Mastering Conversations: Influencing with Purpose

In this session, you’ll learn how to have meaningful, effective conversations with your employees in any situation.

Sometimes, these conversations are simple—like acknowledging a job well done or assigning a task. This may seem easy, but are you unintentionally diluting your message with a common mistake many managers and supervisors make? We’ll reveal what that mistake is and how to avoid it.

Other times, conversations are more challenging, such as addressing issues like tardiness, absenteeism, or subpar work quality. There’s a right way and a wrong way to handle these discussions, and you’ll gain insight into the most effective approach.

Occasionally, you may need to take disciplinary action due to a policy violation, whether it’s an oral warning, a written warning, or a final “crossroads” conversation. Many leaders think that the formal documentation alone will resolve the issue, but what happens after the conversation is often even more critical.

Regardless of the situration, you’ll be prepared to approach all these scenarios naturally and confidently, ensuring your message is clear and constructive.
